What an amazing place. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the decor is beautiful! The free chips and salsa and cheese sauce is so good that I couldn't stop eating it! I filled up before my meal got here! The deluxe fajitas were fresh and tasty. Very big portions. A must visit if you're in the San Diego area! Nice shopping district here as well. Parking is free for restaurant customers.

Always love visiting this Miguel's Cocina location! Service is quick for being in the middle of a tourist destination and servers are all very friendly. Orders arrive rather quickly after order being placed. You never run out of chips, salsa, and cheese sauce. Portions are good, flavor is on point, and food always tastes fresh and looks fresh. This location does have a bar and a small parking lot located behind it. Plenty of outdoor seating. Usually a longer wait if you want indoor seating. Kid friendly as well and they offer a varied menu for kids.

Great restaurant! Sat out on the front porch and enjoyed the view of the crowds. Had a margarita, shrimp stuffed with cheese & jalapeños and wrapped in bacon. So good. It came with rice and beans both were passable but I had to ask for tortillas. When you sit down you are given chips, salsa and Queso. The chips were super thick but I think that may be a thing in San Diego since this is the third time I’ve been served chips like this since I got here. I also had the Mud Pie which was so good.

Great atmosphere, great service, great food. We went on a Sunday which SEEMED like our party of 10 was not going to be seated without a reservation. But we were able to get seated quickly and still had amazing seats. Thank you for allowing us to show our out-of-town guest what San Diego is all about!! Great experience!

Went for Mothers Day and we got seated right away for a party of 6. Service was good and the hostess was pleasant. Nice patio seating under shade. There is also inside seating. Food was good yummy and fulfilling. While waiting for your food they bring you chips salsa and the DELICIOUS cheese dip. Experience was excellent!

The food was good. A little too fried and too much oil. Otherwise the service, location and atmosphere were really great.

Food is amazingly good!! Salsa is the best I have ever had in any Mexican restaurant! Chips were delicious. Warm atmosphere and friendly waitress. Someone recommended us to try Coyote’s but food was terrible there compared to Miguel’s so I would choose Miguel any day over Coyote’s cafe.

Wow we had a great time. The food was very good and the portion was enough lol and more than enough for me. The server was amazing and friendly. We had ordered sangria and it was delicious. Even though this is near Old Town park it was convenient to find and get to.

The restaurant is located in the old Town of San Diego. Service was fast and good enough. You have quite a lot of choice to eat. This restaurant offer some vegetarian food. You have choice with the terrace and inside. Restaurant might not be accessible for disabled as the entrance is located in the main street with few steps. Recommended.

My family and I go here quite often. The food is constantly good, with the fajitas being my personal favorite. The service can be a bit slow, but the food quality usually makes up for it. I don't like their tortillas, but the tortilla chips are good. This last time the cheese sauce tasted a bit off, which was a bummer, but I got more upset because I was served water in a dirty glass. I thought the cloudy color was due to cold condensation on the outside, but it tastes sweet and slightly milky and had a ring where it had been filled. The servers seemed to not care at all. I felt pretty grossed out.

I pretty much always try to eat at Miguel's at least once while in San Diego. I love that they bring you fresh chips and salsa and also some cheese dip for free when you're seated. This location is airy and open and has a nice patio you can sit at outside that's covered with fire pits or you can sit inside and they have a fireplace and large bathroom. They have some really good tacos and burritos on the menu. The most recent visit while I was here was on Taco Tuesday so I decided to take advantage and ordered a trio of samplers - they were so small! No wonder it was a special! It was still enough to make me full with the chips and dip but they were seriously tiny. Great location in the middle of Old Town San Diego so you can walk and shop and look around for a while and make an afternoon out of it. Parking is either in the free Old Town section and walk up the street or you can try to find some street parking in the neighborhoods nearby.

Questions & Answers

Not really. It's full of tourists and locals. Lots of people crowd the sidewalk. Do you really need to bring a dog to dinner with you? To answer your reposted comment... If you are smart enough to call a restaurant in Old Town and ask them for their policy. Why are you asking other opinions? As for dogs in restaurants, I simply do not agree with you. Unless the dog is used for serious physical needs (e.g. for a blind person), there is no need to bring a dog into a restaurant. Just because Paris Hilton did it years ago, doesnt mean it should be the norm. It's not sanitary, and not fair to people with allergies. By the way, Fred's is actually a good restuarant. It's not authentic old town feel. But good food.

Yes they absolutely do. Complete with bottomless sparkling wine for 5$ as long as you get an entree.

YES, THEY DO! It's not a buffet but they do have a brunch menu as well as the usual yummy menu. Plus they have a champagne deal?

Yes, for parties of 8 or more.

There is a small located at the back. Be aware though, larger vehicles may have a hard time fitting in parking spots due to the awkward set up of the parking lot. Also, the lot is on a small incline so if arriving with people that have difficulty walking up and down slight inclines, be aware you may want to drop them off at bottom.

Pretty standard. I’m guessing at the details from one I had - good and moderately spicy. Stuff a poblano Chile with queso blanco, roll it in corn flour, and deep fry it.

Service dogs are allowed or puppies small enough to fit in your purse

Miguel's has a parking lot right behind them.

They do have a drink special for each day of the week, in addition to hapoy hour. Sunday special is $5 Sangria.
